The 'consummation of the age' is a time of harvest at the end of the age (Matthew 13:39). W E Vine (in his Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words) says of the Greek word for consummation—suntelia — 'The word does not denote a termination, but the leading up of events to the appointed climax'.
